theBOGOF, Being Only Great Of Finesse™ held its first event, theBOGOF, Being Only Great Of
Finesse™ themed “WHO AM I?” in February 2011. The concept was born from the realization

that young people have many influences that affect their thoughts, decisions and actions. These

influencing factors come from different quarters. However, we realize that the entertainment – art

and music – industry influences, to a great extent, the way in which young people perceive,

behave and relate to self and the environment around them. It is through a blend of art and

music, thus, that we aim to revolutionize the youth with. Young artistic people have a part to play

in changing the thinking of other young people. It is for this reason that we bring them to one

forum to relate, network and sharpen each other in building character and personality. The aim

is to have a youth population who are positive about themselves, resonating through to their

thoughts, decisions and actions.

The event is held ideally on a bi-monthly basis, preferably, the last Saturday of alternative

months. The event centers around one theme for which every performer is to base their

performance on, creating that blend. The themes that we have focused on to date are: “WHO

AM I?” and “PIECE OF PEACE”. The next event is scheduled for the 30th July 2011 and the

theme is “WHERE TRUTH LIES”. Performances on the day of the event include: rappers,

poets/spoken word practitioners, live bands, sketch artistes/painters and photographers.

Expected Performances: Abbi, Sarabi, Nuru Bahati, Checkmate, etc
